IAEC General Assembly
On 22 May at 17:30h (Curitibal local time) | 22:30h CET. Don't miss it!
The Executive Committee calls for an extraordinary General Assembly on May 22 at 17:15h on first call and at 17:30h on second call (local time at the Positivo Events Center in Curitiba, Brazil) to vote, among other matters, on the modification of Article 36 of the Statutes. This call responds to a request from the Portuguese and Brazilian Networks to incorporate Portuguese as the fourth official language of the Association.
Given both the benefits as well as the economic impact that the introduction of a new official language can imply for all members, the Committee believes it is appropriate for such a modification to be backed by the signing of a collaboration agreement between the aforementioned Networks and the Executive Committee.
The agreement, which is currently being finalized by the respective legal offices, establishes a three-year transition period and a series of commitments to make the measure sustainable during that period.
The extraordinary General Assembly, which is being convened, will have a hybrid format, so that all cities of the Association can express their opinion on this important decision.
Proposed agenda:
- Reading and approval of the previous minutes.
- New registrations.
- Approval of the Code of Ethics.
- Modification of Article 36 of the IAEC Statutes (*).
- Question time
(*) In order to vote on this item at the next meeting, the aforementioned collaboration agreement must be signed by all parties involved.
Matters of the Extraordinary General Assembly requiring a vote will be voted on in accordance with Article 18 of the Statutes, using Kuorum’s online voting platform. Each city is entitled to ONE vote.
