Binissalem is located 139 meters above sea level in a zone of transition between the Mallorca central plain and the southern foothills of the Tramuntana mountain range. The Mediterranean landscape of the city is characterised by the culture of Almonds, Olive Trees and vineyards. The city has its own wine protected Appellation of Origin. The old center, declared a National Historic and Artistic site, is characterised by the architecture of stone - the Binissalem stone.
