Jincheon is a city of around 70.000 inhabitants located in the Northwerstern part of Chungcheongbuk-do Province (inland the Republic of Korea) bordering with the provinces of Chungcheongnam-do and Gyeonggi-do. The city is crossed by the river Mihocheon and surrounded by several mountains. Agriculture is one of the main economic activities of the city. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has defined Jincheon as a regional innovation city.
