Tijucas do Sul

Founded in 1951, it has a population of 17,621 inhabitants (2022). Its strong connection with the natural environment is crucial for its economy based on agriculture and ecotourism. Culturally, the city is a reflection of the mix of original indigenous communities, Portuguese colonizers and European immigrants, who settled in the region over the centuries. Among the notable cultural events is the Farmer’s Festival.
