Vila do Conde

Vila do Conde is a Portuguese municipality in the district of Porto. Located next to the mouth of the Ave river, it has a historic center, a beach area and an important salt port, since it was the main exporter of salt during the Roman era. Its medieval aqueduct stands out, the second longest in the country, declared a National Monument; the Monastery of Santa Clara, or the House-Museo José Recio, renowned writer of the XX century. It has a dynamic cultural life rich in parties and festivals, such as the Ollin Kan Portugal Festival; the Feast of São João; the Curtas, or the National Crafts Fair.
