IAEC Code of Ethics
January 29th, last day to submit the resolution proposal for the second practical case!
During the last General Assembly, a draft IAEC Code of Ethics was presented, with the idea of refining it throughout the year with contributions and reflections from all member cities. The proposed methodology for co-constructing this code of ethics involves resolving various practical cases or ethical dilemmas.
This invitation to think on possible scenarios will highlight the validity or shortcomings of the current code. As a result of this thinking, we will define and internalize shared values and finalize our Code of Ethics, which will be presented at the General Assembly to be held during the 17th International Congress (Curitiba, May 21-24, 2024).
In September, the online workshop titled “Building the IAEC Code of Ethics” was conducted with Dr. Begoña Román, Professor of Ethics and Bioethics at the University of Barcelona and President of the Ethics Committee of Social Services of Catalonia, to accompany us in this process. Those who wish to review this initial seminar may do so here (access password: K?m8DMs9).
Delegates participating in the resolution of the 3 cases and the final workshop will receive a certificate accrediting the contents and dedication (10 hours) issued by the IAEC Secretariat.
A practical workshop with Dr. Román will take place soon with the goal of providing feedback to the cities in the network, informing them of the acquired learnings.
The deadline for submitting the resolution of this second case is January 29th.
