International Day of the Educating City
This year we present the 'Opposite Matching Game about the Educating City' to celebrate the Day!
The fourth edition of the International Day of the Educating City is approaching. We will celebrate this event with the theme: ‘Improving the City by Listening’ on 30 November. Based on this slogan, cities are encouraged to think about activities that highlight this commitment to listening to the city, and to open up spaces for democratic and participatory construction.
This year we present the “Opposite Matching Game about the Educating City”, a card game is open to anyone aged from 6 to 99. It addresses certain values and actions linked to the principles of the Charter of Educating Cities. You can download it here!
At the event website you will also find the IAEC Mayors’ Declaration, to be publicly read on 30 November, and the global agenda of the cities that have shared their programmes. You can still send us the activities planned in your municipality here.
Please share your activities in social media with the hashtag #EducatingCityDay and tagging the IAEC account: @EducatingCities.
We kindly ask you to send us pictures and videos of the celebration as well, once the event is over, following instructions available here. The IAEC Secretariat will take care of the dissemination.
You can check the video highlights of the 2018 edition and the videos/agendas of each city here (2018, 2017, and 2016). 234 cities from 19 countries in 5 continents participated in previous editions.
We count on you to make a success of the Day!
