The gathering will be the third edition of a world meeting that began in Madrid in 2017 with the participation of nearly 10,000 people over the course of both editions, from more than 100 countries from all latitudes of the world and representing international institutions; national, regional and local governments; civil society organizations; social activists; universities; businesses; and schoolchildren.

This meeting is a multi-stakeholder and multi-level forum that highlights the importance of building coexistence and peace in cities and territories, as well as the need to identify the causes of tension and violence, in order to implement public policies, programmes and citizen initiatives that help to build culture and education for peace.

The Government of Ciudad de México, accompanied by an Organizing Committee composed  by international, regional, national and local organizations participate (including the IAEC), assumeS the responsibility of holding the third Forum, initially scheduled in October 2020 and that has been postponed to 26-28 October 2021 due to the pandemic.
