International Day of the older persons

The International Association of Educating Cities wants to celebrate the International Day of the older persons, October the 1st, sharing with you some initiatives of the member cities.

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO) by 2050, the world’s population aged 60 years and older is expected to total 2 billion, up from 900 million in 2015. What is the same it will nearly double from 12% to 22%.

Local governments have an important role when facing the challenge of an ageing society. Here attached you will find good practices deal with the theme through approaches as participation, lifelong learning, intergenerational dialogue, health and wellbeing, inclusion or empowerment.
