Educating Cities’ Award to good practices in “Values-Based Education”

This Award, which heads into its 5th edition, aims to recognise and give international visibility to the work conducted by the Educating Cities and highlight best practices that can be inspiring or other cities that wish to create more educating environments.
The Award will be granted to three innovative experiences from three different member cities that fall within the theme: “Values-Based Education”.
This fifth edition highlights best practices that foster education in civic and democratic values, promote better living together and respect for the planet; as well as initiatives that foster solidarity, a culture of peace, social justice, participation, environmental awareness, and commitment to the common good (Preamble and Principle 20 of the Charter of Educating Cities).

Cities that wish to participate and meet the requirements may submit their application (maximum 2 proposals per city) until 17 October 2023, by sending the candidature form (in the 3 IAEC official languages) and the letter from the Mayor supporting the candidature to: bidce@bcn.cat
Applications will be assessed by an international jury composed of representatives of the IAEC Executive Committee and academics/specialists in the field
The Award Ceremony will take place in the framework of the 17th International Congress of Educating Cities which will be held on 21-24 May 2024 in Curitiba (Brazil).
