I would like to introduce myself as the new Deputy Mayor for Education at Barcelona City Council and Delegated Chairman of the International Association of Educating Cities (IAEC), an association that unites and gathers our cities. I am taking on this highly motivating challenge with great interest and enthusiasm. And I am keen to hear your voices and enjoy your participation in the Association with your ideas and proposals.

The IAEC is today an active and well-established association passionately committed to connecting and supporting member cities in accordance with the Charter of Educating Cities. My wish is to continue working and supporting member cities in these times of crisis and hardships.

I know that during my time in office there will be moments of hard work and dedication alongside other times of more relaxed conviviality within the IAEC community, and I hope to have the chance to meet you soon in person.

It is my goal to follow the long path started by my predecessors, working to consolidate and bolster the initiatives and good practices in progress and developing new proposals to make further headway.

I could not sign off without thanking my predecessor, Maria Truñó, for her hard work and dedication at the helm of the IAEC between September 2019 and 2021. Although she will not be at the front of the IAEC, we will continue to work together in the education team of Barcelona City Council.
