The second edition of the International Day of the Educating City took place on 30 November 2017 and included the participation of 110 cities from 9 countries and 4 continents.
On the occasion of the International Day, a Manifesto of the Mayors of the Association was prepared, under the heading “The Right to the Educating City”. The declaration was developed in a participatory manner and aimed at recognising the work of the educational agents in the city. All cities were invited to make a public reading of the Manifesto followed by a collective applause to people and / or organisations for their educational contribution. In some municipalities, the Manifesto was adopted at the plenary council.
The celebration of the International Day in the different cities also included symposiums and conferences, guided tours and open doors days, prize-giving ceremonies, projections of audio-visual materials, concerts, leisure and sports activities, night picnics, wall posters on how to improve the city, children’s municipal council, meetings of member cities, etc.
Once again, mayors joined their voices with messages of support. Organizations and experts also contributed giving their support to the International Day.
