Deadline extension for the submission of experiences to the 15th IAEC Congress
The deadline for submitting experiences to the Congress 'The city belongs to its people', which will take place on November 2018 in Cascais (Portugal) has been extended to 21 May.
We are pleased to inform you that the deadline for submitting experiences to the 15th International Congress of Educating Cities has been extended until 21 May. As you know, the city of Cascais is working to offer us an interesting programme for the upcoming Congress, which will take place on 13-16 November, with the theme “The city belongs to its people” (www.congressoaice2018.cascais.pt).
An important part of the program is reserved for the cities, with the aim of promoting reflection on the practice through the exchange of experiences and of know-how. Therefore, we invite you to submit your good practices if you haven’t done so yet.
We would like to remind you that presentations and dialogues should revolve around one of the 3 axes of the Congress:
- Stream 1: Design the city inspired by the people, their needs and aspirations;
- Stream 2: Coexistence for the feeling of belonging;
- Stream 3: The city for its people and their life projects.
There are two formats for submitting experiences: “Experiences for Discussion” and “Experiences on Smart Boards”.
“Experiences for Discussion” will include several good practices around a table. Participants will make a brief presentation with the support of images only. Then a debate will be opened based on the questions of the moderator and the audience. Each session will have simultaneous translation to the different languages of the Congress (Spanish, English, French and Portuguese). Please find attached the Word template so that you get acquainted with the fields, but the submission of good practices must be done via the online form only.
“Experiences on Smart Boards” is a new way of presenting taking advantage of the new technologies. Through these interactive screens participants will be able to check the experiences in the smart boards through the Congress. In addition, speakers will have a slot allocated to deliver the presentation in one of the languages of the Congress. These presentations should be sent using PowerPoint.
Experiences (belonging to any of the 2 above formats) shall be submitted in one of the 4 languages of the Congress via the following online form: http://inscreva-se.net/congressoaice2018/index.php?lang=en
When submitting an experience, you are required to register at the Congress. Nevertheless, there is no need to proceed with the payment until you receive the assessment of the Scientific Committee.
As a novelty of this Congress, we would like to inform you that Cascais has received around 70 candidatures of young people from several educating cities at international level, who will have the chance to participate in several workshops and exchange their experiences. In addition, they will share their reflections and proposals with the ensemble of participants.
Do not miss this chance to share the initiatives of your city!
