The Argentinean member cities agree the creation of a new Argentinean Territorial Network
The Library Manuel Belgrano of Godoy Cruz (Province of Mendoza) host las December 14 2016 the 2nd Meeting of Educating Argentine Cities.
The meeting began with a welcome ceremony presided over by the Mayor of Godoy Cruz, Mr. Tadeo García Zalazar, and the Director of the IAEC Delegation for Latin America, Ms. Laura Alfonso.
As soon as the ceremony ends, the Brazilian expert Ms Vera Lucia de Oliveira Salvatore gave a conference on “The commitment to building Educating Cities”.
After that, there was a session of presentation of experiences around the themes of citizen participation and living together, environment and sustainability and the promotion of the rights of children and youth.
Works continued on the afternoon with a meeting of the Argentinean member cities, during which it was agreed the constitution of an Argentinean Network of Educating Cities together with an Action Plan and a draft of internal rules.
At the same time, cities that are not yet members of the Association had the opportunity to know the Association in depth in an Information session. Besides, Godoy Cruz organized a study visit to various local programs and facilities.
The day concluded with a Round Table of local authorities with the participation of the Mayors of Mendoza, General. Alvear, Malargue and Godoy Cruz.
