Universal Declaration of Human Rights 70th Anniversary
The Human Rights Day and the celebration of the Declaration’s 70th anniversary take place on 10th December.
The economic, social, cultural, civil and political rights proclaimed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights apply to everyone regardless of race, belief, location or other distinction of any kind. These principles are as relevant today as at the moment of its adoption by the UN General Assembly in 1948.
At this time, we would like to remind us of the European Charter for the Safeguarding of Human Rights in the City, adopted in Saint-Denis on 2000. The Charter, endorsed by over 400 cities, strikes to ensure the respect of citizens’ fundamental rights in villages and cities.
