World AIDS Day

The International Association of Educating Cities wants to celebrate the World AIDS Day sharing some initiatives of the member cities.

According to the UN Millennium Development Goals report, the number of newly HIV infected people dropped a 40% from 3,5 million to 2,1 million between the years 2000 and 2013. Despite there seems to be a stabilization in most regions and more people survive the illness, there is still people that do not know how to protect themselves or do not take the necessary safety precautions. Accordingly, the Educating Cities set up initiatives that foster health education.

Here are some examples:

Sexual and Reproductive Health Campaign: “Don’t Board! Plan Your Life”– MEXICO CITY

Permanent Theatre Atelier in Prison, in particular with Prisoners Affected by HIV Virus and AIDS Disease– TURIN (ITALY)
