World Environment Day – 5 June
The IAEC joins in the celebrations of the World Environment Day sharing a selection of environmental protection initiatives carried out by member cities.
Each World Environment Day is organized around a theme that focuses on a particularly pressing environmental concern. The theme for 2019, “Beat Air Pollution,” is an action call to combat this global crisis. Chosen by this year’s host, China, this year’s topic invites us all to consider how we can change our everyday lives to reduce the amount of air pollution we produce, and thwart its contribution to global warming and its effects on our own health
In a world that is more and more urban, cities have a great responsibility when it comes to time to achieving more a sustainable development that can satisfy the needs of current generations without compromising the capacity of future generations.
