The upcoming International Congress of Educating Cities will take place on 25-28 October in Andong (Korea), with the theme: “Shaping the Future of Education: Innovation, Tradition and Inclusion”.

The event has an a-list curated selection of educating experiences, conferences and study visits on spot, including the presentation of over 65 local best practices from 51 cities and 11 countries and study visits to local projects in Andong. Check out the projects and presenters here.

The Awards Cerimony for the Educating Cities Award for Best practices for the promotion of Care in the city will be held during the Congress, as well as the General Assembly of Educating Cities, where the new IAEC Executive Committee will be approved.

Covid restrictions have been lifted and there is no need to undertake Covid tests.

We are expecting over 1000 participants from all over the world!

Invitation Message for the 16^th International Congress of Educating Cities – The Mayor of Andong City

Hello,

I am Gi-chang Kwon, the newly elected Mayor of Andong City, inaugurated with a new political goal, “Great Citizens and New Andong City.”

As a member city of the International Association of Educating Cities(IAEC), which aims to spread and promote the concept of the city as the backbone of democracy and citizenship, it will be an honor to meet you in Andong.

I would like to express my gratitude to Ms. Ada Colau, Mayor of Barcelona and President of the IAEC, and all the mayors of the IAEC member cities, as well as Ms. Marina Canals, the IAEC Secretary-General, and the IAEC Secretariat staff who are helping a lot in preparation for the 16th IAEC International Congress of Educating Cities in Andong. I want to take this opportunity to thank you.

We look forward to meeting delegates from all 500 member cities in Andong, representing the East’s spiritual culture. We will do our best to prepare the 16th IAEC Congress to become a wonderful and memorable Congress in line with the theme of “Shaping the future of education” in Andong, a city of Korean beauty and traditional culture.
