Almada is a city in the district of Setúbal, located at only 10 km. far from Lisbon, in the other side of the Tagus River. It has a population of 174,030 inhabitants and a density of 2,478 inhab./km2 (2011 data). It covers a surface area of 70 km2.
The city grew because of the need for manpower in the major industries located in the city: naval, electrical, textiles, among others.
