Its economic activity, mainly farming, it is also based on pharmaceutical  and ceramics, sectors in development thanks to the strategic situation of the city. As regards its cultural heritage, it is worth mentioning the archeological site of the old Roman of Conimbriga in which visitors can discover of the best conserved Roman rests of the country.
