Montevideo

Montevideo is the capital of Uruguay. It has a population of 1,319,108 inhabitants (2011 data) and has a density of 6,523 inhab./km2 (2011 data).The city occupies an area of 200 km2. The harbour of Montevideo is the key to the Uruguayan economy and trade, although tourism and city life with its multiple services have made Montevideo the financial centre of the country.
