Occupies a surface of 134,3 km² which is crossed by the river Dão and has extensive vineyards which have the Dão Appellation of Origin. Penalva do Castelo has a rich natural and historic heritage among which we can outline the church and the Insua House also known as Solar dos Albuquerques.
