Espaço público

Transformar o espaço público num lugar harmonioso, num ponto de encontro adaptado a diferentes necessidades; melhorar a ligação entre diversas zonas da cidade e fomentar o sentimento de pertença à mesma e um uso cívico e respeitador do espaço público são algumas das metas das cidades educadoras.

Neste sentido, as cidades educadoras desenvolvem programas de eliminação de barreiras arquitetónicas, de melhoria dos transportes públicos, e concebem, de forma participativa, novos espaços na cidade ou implementam programas de incentivo à convivência entre diversos coletivos, faixas etárias, culturas, etc.
